Sutton Chamber this week showed it’s commitment to the young residents of the Sutton community by sponsoring two awards in the Young Enterprise Sutton and Merton Area Board Award. 

The Overall Best Company was won by Choice who produced the Love Survival Guide for Teenagers and Runner-up Company was CSquared2, a baby sitting company.

Choice, mentored by Anthea Lashley-Small of Clavel Rowe Public Relations and Robert Landeryou, a retired engineer, also won the award for the best presentation, while managing director of Choice, Hui-Wing Chan,  won the Achiever of the Year award.

Paul Cawthorne of Sutton Chamber presented the awards on behalf of the Chamber said that he was impressed with the calibre of the area finalists and was certain the schools in Sutton and Merton involved in the Young Enterprise programme were well on their way to becoming young entrepreneurs if they so desired.

The other awards were as follows:

• The Most Innovative Product or Service sponsored by Merton Chamber went to Jump who produced a cookbook using leftovers.
• Best Presentation sponsored by Business Over Breakfast was won by Choice of Wallington Girls
• The Best Company Report went sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland went to Covet, jewellery designers and makers
• The Best Trade Stand, sponsored by St. Nicholas Centre went to CSquared2.
• The Runner-up Company sponsored by Sutton Chamber went to CSquared2
• The Overall Best Company sponsored by Sutton Chamber went to Choice
• The Adviser of the Year sponsored by Sutton Business Education Partnership went to Jeffrey Walters who advised Covet.
• The Achiever of the Year sponsored by Sutton Business Education Partnership went to Hui-Wing Chan, managing director of Choice.
