Sutton Chamber Joins Partners to Tackle Unemployment
An initiative in Sutton has seen 50% of executives who were recently made redundant, gaining employment after participating in Executive Plus. This initiative which sees the partnership of Sutton Chamber, Sutton Council, Job Centre Plus (JCP) and the Citizens Advice Bureau joining forces to provide a series of workshops to assist professionals who have lost their jobs.
The objective of Executive Plus is to assist professional, get back to work. Most of these professionals have been employed for many years and some may not be familiar with the current CV requirements and interview techniques.
Paul Cawthorne, Director of Sutton Chamber of Commerce commented, “We are extremely pleased to be working with the various partners in the borough and to have launched the first Executive Plus programme and in fact, to be the first borough in the country to do so.”
Executive Plus has just completed its third series of workshops which attracts approximately 20 participants at each series. Executive Plus is held on Thursdays at the Holiday Inn, Sutton and those interested need to register with Job Centre Plus to attend.
